🌏 THE GREAT 2023 NEW ZEALAND ADVENTURE ðŸŒ

After almost 13 years away, I am finally going back to New Zealand. I have set myself a goal to leave in 2023 and spend May – October there.

That’s 14 months to improve my health and make as much of a dent in my weight loss as possible. I have missed New Zealand every single day I have been gone and I can’t wait to go back.

There were a great many things I never did while I lived there and though I did travel quite a bit, I want to explore all the parts I didn’t see before.

I have some great friends to reunite with and I have opened the invitation to share part of the experience with someone who has been considering traveling but was too afraid to do it on their own.

This will be my planning, prepping, inspiration and motivation section. I want to travel both islands, top to bottom, by a variety of train, RV, bus and boat…

Truly the adventure of a lifetime!

🚩ADVENTURE DESTINATION: CAPE REINGA
[The uppermost publicly accessible point of the North Island]

“At the Cape, the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean in a spectacular swirl of currents. At the northernmost tip of the Cape is a gnarled pohutukawa tree, believed to be over 800 years old. According to Maori oral history, the spirits of deceased Maori leap from this tree into the ocean to return to their ancestral homeland of Hawaiki.”
