I started the day with the intention of doing lots of #experimentsineating – you know I love my Noodle Bowls but often the seasoning packs are either too spicy ๐Ÿ”ฅ or not a flavor I was looking for. So I decided to try making my own broths to use in Noodle bowls.

I bought this “soup” – which was a mix of dried ingredients, that for many of them, I had no clue what they were.

Yeah… Hard NO! Oh, so much no… Full details in the video but suffice to say it may have been the single most revolting experiment I’ve ever tried. ๐Ÿคฎ

I messaged my cousin to see if she wanted me to keep it for her ๐Ÿ˜‚

PURPLE RICE PUDDING BOWL
Blow by blow in the video but the short version is this. I was cooking, cooking, cooking – having a fun #experimentsineating day. Got one of the Ramen Broths started and decided to have breakfast.

Used a new food colorant (Ube / Purple Sweet Potato) – 3 drops in the rice pudding… Pretty pretty!

Ate 2 tbsps…

๐Ÿ’ฃ Had an immediate and very big reaction – my eyes swelled, my tongue went numb, I lost feeling in my fingers, burning in my feet… It was very fast and lasted about 6 hours.

I laid down for several hours and then finished up the second broth but definitely did not feel like eating.

Trim artichoke stem (and petal tips if needed). Cut off the top inch or so of the artichoke and rinse to remove any dirt between the petals.

Place Artichoke on trivet or in steamer basket face up, squeeze juice of 1 lemon into the crevices (*optional), add lemon halves to pot with 1 cup water.

Cook 20min on High Pressure + Natural Release

I got a my late start to eating today (after 6pm to start cooking) so this was my only meal today… I had ยฝ when I made it and finished the rest later.

I was also testing my theory that it was not the tempeh that created the horrible reaction a few weeks ago. I was wrong at least partially.

I was fine while eating it, but a few hours later (which is how it presented last time as well), my eye started itching and swelling. Not super bad, but noticed.

I am not allergic to soy, and I eat many soy based products but maybe there is something in the fermentation process of this specific product I am reacting to. Whatever the reason, no more for me. ๐Ÿ˜

This reaction is nowhere near as intense, probably because the last one was 2 products and a higher amount, but we’ll see what happens by tomorrow. I took some antihistamines and I feel okay so maybe this is just a small warning.

To make all purpose flour into self rising – add 1ยฝtsp baking powder + ยผtsp salt per 1c flour…so for single serve – add โ…œtsp (which is 1/4 teaspoon plus 1/8 teaspoon) + a pinch of salt

*If you are not adding the nutritional yeast, you may need slightly less yogurt/milk.

NO STICKY HANDS PREPARATION
Combine all ingredients in a bowl with a fork or small spatula. Lightly spray your baking sheet or lay down some parchment paper and turn your dough out onto the tray. Using the fork/spatula, shape the dough to the thickness and diameter you want. Top with an egg wash and additional seasoning if you’d like. Bake and enjoy!

I needed to go back into town to pick up meds and things I was unable to get on my last trip, so back to Kroger I went. They had done a weekend restock and I was able to get everything I wanted this time. I am starting a round of antibiotics from tomorrow as the doc wants to see if that affects my WBC elevation.

However I didn’t get home until after 5pm so by the time I did my grocery haul video, got things put away and made food, I was eating at after 7pm which means only one meal today…

I also tracked my orange juice for the week (for taking my meds) which put me over on Carbs…
